Denny Martin

Dennis Wayne “Denny” Martin, 66 of Given, passed away July 22, 2026 following a short illness.

Denny was born November 2, 1959 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Delmer P. and Barbara Jean Jones Martin. He was a graduate of Ripley High School the Class of 1978 where he was the standout starting center. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his nieces and nephews where he was always there to support them in all their endeavors. Denny was a man his neighbors and friends called “Doc” because he could fix anything, especially Lawn Mowers. He enjoyed working with his tools and hand to get the job done. He joked that he had a Degree in B.S. “Briggs and Stratton Degree.”

Denny is survived by his brothers, Danny (Jolea) Martin, Dale (Wendy) Martin and Michael (Tabatha) Martin; his nephews and nieces who he loved dearly, Chelsea (Chad) Gandee, Jordan (Zack) Tennant, John Martin, Eric (Jenn) Martin, Katie (Jamie) Powell, Logan (Emily) Martin, Mikala (Jamin) Jones, Preston (Haley) Martin and Jake (Regan) Martin; his cousins who were like brothers, Mark Martin and Craig Martin. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jay Martin.

A Celebration of Denny’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5 pm until the time of service on August 14, 2026 at the funeral home.
