Denver A. Young, 86 of Ripley, graduated to Heaven on September 16, 2016 while surrounded by his family after battling a long illness. He was born March 21, 1930 at the family home on Zion Ridge Road in Ripley, a son of the late Thomas Folee and Pheobee Luree Harmon Young. He was employed at Kaiser Aluminum with 35 years of service. He was an avid Farmer and member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his many friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evalina June Casto Young; sons, Steve Young and wife Kathy of Ripley and Joseph Young and companion Saundra Shepherd of Sandyville; daughter Sharon Watson and husband Ricky of Ripley; brothers Delmer Young and wife Ureada of Ripley and Denzil Young and wife Mable of Ashtabula, OH and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Austin, brother Thomas Young, son-in-law Paul Sharp, daughter in law Debra Young and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ripley with Ed Austin and Mike Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the Young Family Cemetery in Ripley. Friends may call from 2 to 5 pm Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that donations in memory of Denver Young be made to the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston in lieu of flowers.
