Denzil D. Staats

Denzil D. Staats, 82 of Sandyville, passed away January 5, 2022 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, following a long illness. He was born March 31, 1939 in Sandyville, WV, son of the late Darrell and Erma Riggs Staats. He worked for many years as a Paramedic and as an Emergency Room Tech. He loved being with family and taking care of his dog, “Puppy”. He is survived by his children, Melissa (Rocky) Blankenship of Sandyville, David Staats of Sandyville and Billy (Melissa) Staats of Ravenswood; sister, Lois June (Larry) Dragoo of Portland, OH; grandchildren, Chris and Samantha Blankenship, Joseph Staats, Kelsie Miller, Brittany Staats and Emily Staats; great grandchildren, Lucy Blankenship, Rosalyn Blankenship, Devon Staats and Blake Staats. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Thompson Staats and a brother, Charles Staats. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
