Donald "Davy" Crockett

Donald “Davy” Crockett, 80 of Ripley, passed away very peacefully, going to sleep and gaining his wings to join his youngest daughter, Patty Crockett, in heaven on October 17, 2023 at Ravenswood Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born February 2, 1943 in United, Kanawha County, son of the late Woodrow and Juanita Johnson Crockett. Davy served in the United States Marines and belonged to the Ripley VFW Post 5501. Davy was an outgoing fellow that loved to dance, fish, play cards with family and friends and golf especially with friends on their Santee golf trip. His Parkinson and Dementia may have taken him over, but we have comfort in knowing he is at peace.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia “Pat” Thaxton Crockett who will always love him and little Patty dearly and will always miss them; son Michael Crockett; daughters Melissa Crockett Smith and Regina Crockett; sister Sandra Kennedy of Ripley and brother Bobby Crockett of Ohio. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and no public service. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
