Donald Lewis Snyder

Donald Lewis Snyder, 82 of Leroy, Jackson County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 16, 1933 at Parkersburg a son of the late Julia Irene Snyder. Though he was a man of few words, anyone who knew him knew he was a generous man. He loved to visit with people who weren't able to get out. Many will remember him on his four-wheeler popping by to visit or bring food from his garden. He believed that everyone deserved to have someone visit with them. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He retired from Century Aluminum with over 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife Nellie May (Costello) Snyder; sons Richard (Belinda)Snyder of Sandyville and Bruce Snyder of Given; daughters Cindy Perry of Ripley and Sandra Brown of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren Lori Theiss, Mary Beth Davis, Robert Garnes, Erica Voges, Ray Snyder and Shala Snyder; great grandchildren Lauren Davis, Bethany Theiss, Logan Theiss, Declan Theiss and Lyla Voges; brothers and sisters Mary Casto, Phyllis Grady, Ruth Kerns, Dorothy (Paul) Pyle, Joyce Coon, Clayton (Patsy) Kerns and Joh (Linda) Kerns. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a son Brian David Snyder, a brother Junior Kerns and sisters Georgia Burton and Una Belle Waskey. In honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sandyville with Pastor David Hinzman officiating.
