Donald Francis Zeidler, 92, of Gay, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 21,
2025, at the home of his son, Robert Zeidler and wife Evelyn Zeidler, in Gilbert,
Arizona.
Don was born on September 3, 1932, in Topeka, Kansas, to Ila Mae Zeidler and
Francis Lawrence Zeidler.
Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Korean War
Veteran. He was one of 12,000 Marines in the battle of Chosin Reservoir in North
Korea in 1950. Don was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad where he retired from
in 1995. He attended the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Spencer, West
Virginia until he was relocated to Arizona for care.
Don is survived by two sons, Robert Francis Zeidler, of Gilbert, Arizona, Michael
Fred Zeidler of Elk Grove, California, and three daughters, Deberah Henderson,
who resides in North Texas, Shirley Goodwin who resides in Southern California,
and Sharon Wallace who resides in Arizona. Don had 14 grandchildren and 23
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Shirley Zeidler,
on June 16, 1998.
The graveside service with Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard will take place at Mount Zion Cemetery on September 22nd
at 10:00 AM.
