Doreen Thomas

Letha “Doreen” Thomas, 87 of Gay, went home to be with the Lord September 22, 2021 at her home. She was born February 8, 1934 at Plum Orchard, WV, daughter of the late Moody and Madge Litton Parsons. She was a loving and supportive Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend. Her heart was always huge and welcoming. Her smile was contagious and would light up any room. She was a conservative Christian and followed the teachings of the Bible. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and cooking. Doreen was strong willed and raised her children and grandchildren with the ways of her time. Honor your parents and love your spouse. She never gave up easily, and supported her family and loved ones in all they chose to do. Nothing brought her more joy then her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family with a fire inside her that no one could put out. She leaves behind a long legacy! She is survived by her son, Allen (Shupaula) Thomas of Gay; daughter Cheryl (Tom) Judge of Millwood; grandchildren T.J. Thomas and fiancée Mary Pritt, John Micheal Thomas and wife Brittany, Tommy Judge and wife Jessica and Letha Jones; 10 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; brothers Rossie, Dana and Stanley Parsons and sisters Delma Miller, Doris May and Sandy Roush. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Thomas, brother Dwight Parsons and sisters Dorothy Parsons and Sharon Nutter. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville. Waybright Funeral Home is serving the family.
