Dorothy Annabelle Carney

Dorothy Annabelle Carney, 92 of Ripley, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born September 22, 1930 in Gay, WV, daughter of the late Fred and Virgie Elva Rhodes Fields. Annabelle was a member of the Ripley Baptist Tabernacle Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening and doing search-a-word puzzles. She loved her cats and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ira “Jiggs” Carney; great-grandson Wyatt Hayes; sisters Edith Buck and Rita Casto and brother Radus Fields

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Denise) Carney, Diane Knopp, Steve (Patricia) Carney, Greg (Norma) Carney, Darlene (Bill Lytton) Carney, and Deena Carney; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
