Dorothy Maxine Ohse-Pyles, 75 of Sandyville, passed away November 18, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following a long illness. She was born September 14, 1941 in Jackson County, daughter of the late Ace and Verna Snyder Kerns. She was a homemaker and attended the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Frozen Camp. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, square dancing and clogging along with cooking for her family. She is survived by her husband, Paul Pyles; son Kevin (Carol) Ohse; daughters Renee (Mark) Johnson and Dawn (Mike) Ohse; sisters Ruth Kerns, Phyllis Grady, Mary Casto and Joyce Coon; brothers John Kerns and Clayton Kerns; grandchildren Jessica Spears, Eric Johnson, Megan Sharp, Mallory Anderson, Kayla Johnson, Kevin Ohse II, Madison Ohse and Liberty Ohse-Colborn; great grandchildren Hunter, Cara and Lexi Spears. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Una Belle Waskey, Georgia Burton, Junior Kerns and Don Snyder. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Wayright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Bob Keen officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in memory of Dorothy to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
