Dorothy Mae Parsons

Dorothy Mae Parsons “Mamaw”, 93 of Kentuck, West Virginia passed away peacefully after a short illness on November 29, 2017 at her daughter’s home in TN. She was born on August 22, 1924 and raised in Greenbrier County, West Virginia where she met her husband, whom she married on February 5, 1946. Mamaw was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Myrtle Patterson, her brothers Abe, Buford, and Bernard (Bunt), in addition to her husband, Harrison. She is survived by her brother Cherry (Jerry), and her children, Allen (Katrina), Lowell (Audrey), and Nancy (Tom), including her sister in law, Faye. Additionally, her grandchildren are Jeff (Denise), Jason(Terra), Benji (Stephanie), Matthew(Melissa), Travis (Lindsey), Erika (Marco), Randy and Emily (Whetsel). She was also blessed with great grandchildren; Jayelyn, Nick, Ian, Kenzie (Ben), Caden, Aynzli, Nickali, Lillith, Christopher, Ilyssa, Arien, Aiden, Laryssa, Kaven, Lelyn, Courtney, Lucas and daughter Piper, Taryn and Addison, Gabriel, Riley, and Araceli. She was a true matriarch of the community who cherished her friends, family, and neighbors, especially Archie (Rose) & Wanda(Johnny). She was a modest woman that witnessed dramatic change in her lifetime yet unpretentiously remained a sunny optimist. A memorial service will be held at Waybright Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16 at 2pm. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
