Douglas "Mickey" Fisher

Douglas McArthur “Mickey” Fisher, 82, of Cottageville passed away on February 09, 2025, at the Ravenswood Care Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born February 20, 1942, in Staats Mills, WV, the son of the late Hiram and Clara (Fields) Fisher. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta Kaye (Rhodes) Fisher, two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Stacy Fisher as well as sisters, Ermalie Fields and Martha Ann Fisher and brothers Ross Fisher, Ira Fisher, Harvey Fisher, Eugene Fisher, John Henry Fisher, Philbert Fisher and Stanley Fisher.

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Shelly Marie Fisher, his sister Rosalee Barker, and brother Jimmy Fisher. He leaves behind many family and friends that brought joy to his life.

Mickey was an equipment operator and retired from Brown & Root.

Family is what filled his time in retirement, and he cherished each moment he was given with his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to made to the American Heart Association in memory of his beloved daughters Jennifer and Stacy.

Visitation will be held at the Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 11am – 1pm. A “Celebration of Life” will take place directly after the viewing service. Family and friends are encouraged to stay and enjoy food and exchange memories of Mickey.

A private burial will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 at 1pm at the Litton Fisher Cemetery in Gay, WV.
