Douglas W. Withrow

Douglas Wayne Withrow, 72 of Cottageville, WV, passed away peacefully  on February 17, 2024 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born May 2, 1951 in Charleston, WV , son of the late Robert and Lois Colley Withrow. Doug was an awesome, loving and caring father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cars, especially his Corvette and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Michele Sargent and her husband Tom of Evans, Danielle Withrow and significant other Tony Shutts of Marietta and Rick Withrow and his wife Tara of Sandyville; his grandchildren, Nathaniel and Gabriel Sargent, Tyson Withrow and Audriana and Bryson Shutts; brother Jerry Withrow and wife Jeanette of Hurricane; nephew Brian Shamblin and close friend, Nancy Lockhart. He is also survived by his dog and friend, Coco.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Ankrom, daughter, Sherri Ankrom and sister, Linda Shamblin.

Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2014 at the Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Doug’s memory to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 86 County Farm Rd, Cottageville, WV 25239 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
