Dovie Mae Southall

Dovie Mae Southall, 94, of Sandyville, West Virginia passed away on February 19, 2022 at Mountain View Care Center in Ripley, West Virginia. Dovie was born on June 9, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Mote Jackson Stanley and Emma McHenry Stanley of Parchment Valley in Ripley, West Virginia. Dovie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Ray Southall, two brothers Jack and Edward, two sisters Mabel Stanley and Dora Sayre, and two infant daughters, Anna, Joyce and Katheryn Southall. Survivors include one sister Wilma Acree, three sons and their spouses Kenneth and Janet Southall, Keith and Helen Southall, and Richard and Debra Southall), six grandchildren, Morgan, Adam, Matthew, and Kathryn Southall and Markus LeMasters and Kelsey Lawson, and several nieces and nephews including one especially close nephew, Burl Kay. Dovie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who was very involved in the lives of those close to her. She liked cooking, reading, and talking about nature (natural remedies for common ailments, etc.). Dovie loved collecting items that were sentimental to her and reminded her of those she held dear in her life. Her family would like to offer their grateful appreciation to the dedicated staff at Mountain View Care Center who provided care for her during her last months of life. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Butch Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Casto Cemetery, Fairplain.
