Doyle Clifford Shaffer

Doyle Clifford Shaffer, 76 of Ripley passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his home following a short illness. He was born March 12, 1936 at Alum Creek a son of the late Hurl and Mable Shaffer. He retired from the Maintenance Staff of the Jackson County Board of Education and was a faithful member of the Ripley Baptist Temple. Doyle was also very active with the Ripley Senior Citizens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Katie Shaffer. He is survived by brothers Shelby Shaffer of Charleston and Larry Shaffer of North Carolina; sisters Violet Fields of Florida and Carol Burgess of Charleston; niece Terry Milam and her husband Carl of Ripley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
