Phillip E. Casto 74 of Sandyville has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away July 15, 2014 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. Phil was born on March 20, 1940 at Ripley, a son of the late Dr. Wendell and Addie Statts Casto. He was a graduate of Ripley High School, West Virginia University where he was a member of the KA fraternity and the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He was a practicing Dentist for over 45 years. He served on the Advisory Council for Aldersgate Renewal Ministry as well as the Lay Missions Coordinator for over 20 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Phil was an accomplished woodworker and will always be known for his wonderful since of humor. He was a very active member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley. Phil was a loving husband and father and will be missed very much by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Kay Casto; a brother James Casto and his wife Judy of Westerville, OH; his children Craig Casto and his wife Becky of Ripley, Amy Tomer and her husband Brad of Houston, TX and Jeffrey Casto and his wife Benita of Waynesboro, PA; and his grandchildren Jacob and Lindsey Casto, Trevor, Tyler and Travis Tomer, Joseff, Isabel, Joshua, Eleisha, Tabitha, Joy and Jonathon Casto. A Celebration of the Life of Phil Casto will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. If desired donations in memory of Phil may be made the Calvary United Methodist Church or the Aldersgate Renewal Ministry.
