Dwight Wallace Parsons 81 of Ripley passed away April 19, 2014 at his home following a long illness. He was born May 24, 1932 in Jackson County a son of the late Moody and Madge Litton Parsons. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired Steelworker having worked for J and L Steel and later LTV Steel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Helen Smith Parsons; daughters Deborah McVay of Ripley, Teresa Staving of Aliquippa, PA and Karen Strugalski of Clinton, PA; Brothers Rossie Parsons Ripley, Dana Parsons of Gay and Stanley Parsons of Spencer; sisters Doreen Thomas of Gay, Dorothy Parsons of Evans, Delma Miller of Spencer, Doris West of Fairplain, Sharon Nutter of Gay and Sandy Roush of Ravenswood; grandchildren Julie Taylor, Jamie Staving, Vernon Dwight Staving and Joshua McVay and great grandchildren Alex McDaniel, Samantha McDaniel, Zoe McDaniel and Caelen Taylor. He also leaves behind his faithful friend and "Little Buddy," Kemba. Funeral Service will be 6:30 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home with Pastors Deron Smith and Joey Cunningham officiating. Friends may call form 4:30 pm until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Veterans Rites by American Legion Post 107 will follow the service at the funeral home. Committal Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Aliquippa, PA. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
