Earl H. McCormick Earl Harold McCormick, 84, of Ripley, passed away peacefully at home Monday, August 5, 2013, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a tireless provider through whatever job he could find. Examples include working for the railroad in Danville WV and Cleveland OH, working at the Ice House and Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, coal mining in Lincoln County and, finally, going to work for Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, OH, the job he retired from. In addition to being a devoted provider and protector for his family, Earl also devoted his life to the Lord and studying His word. He was an accomplished musician known for his God-given talent in piano and acoustic instruments and, was a neighborhood handyman who enjoyed helping others. He leaves behind his dedicated and loving wife of 64 years, Peggy Estep McCormick, who faithfully took care of him through many difficult years of illness. Also surviving: Sons, Earl McCormick Jr. (Cindy) of Wichita Falls, TX, Randolph Blake McCormick (Hope) of Lake Butler, FL; Daughters, Kimberly (Roy) of Wichita Falls, TX and Vanessa (Chad) of Ripley, WV; Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Brother, Vernard "Bernie" McCormick of Sod, WV; Sisgter, Sussie of South Charleston, WV along with many special in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by brothers Delfield, Homer J., Millard and Charles and sisters Marie and Pearl. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Earl to Hospice, who took excellent care of Earl and his family. A special thank you to his many caregivers, especially Sherry and Neola, and nurses Monica and Kathy. The family also thanks those who have lent love and support through Earl's illness.
