Earnest Lee Hartley

Earnest Lee Hartly, 73, of Sandyville, WV passed on March 6, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1952, a son to the late Orville and Ruth Hartley.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Melissa Walker, Jessica Casto, and Michelle Walker; sons, Justin Walker and Zachary Walker; grandchildren, Paul Tenney II, Dalton Young, Tyler Casto, Jasmine Casto, and Chase Casto; and great-granddaughter, Lilah Carpenter.

In addition to his parent, he is preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Hartley; and grandchildren Joshua Casto and Timothy Casto.

Earnest will be remembered for his kind heartedness and was always lending a helping hand. He was also very passionate about tending to the neighborhood cats and enjoyed their company.

On Sunday, March 15th, 2026, there will be a Celebration of Life at 3p.m. with visitation held from 1-3p.m at Waybright Funeral Home. In honoring the families’ requests, he will be cremated afterwards. Earnest was soft spoken and didn’t voice his opinion often, but he made his distaste for the color black known, therefore, in his honor the family asks that you come dressed in vibrant color.
