Howard Edwin “Ed” Dillon, 90 of Sandyville, passed away June 2, 2023 at his home following an extended illness.

Ed was born March 20, 1933 at Sandyville a son of the late Harvey Elam and Velma Morgan Dillon.In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Ireta (Bonnett) Dillon; Tony Ray Hupp; Alicia Dillon; Samantha Buckland and Sherry Dillon; brothers and sisters Mary Branniff, Laila Hoschar, Ila Petty, Barbara Slusher, Gail Riffle Cheryl Pence, Linda Dillon, David Dillon and Keith Dillon; half sisters Audrey Fisher and Edna Davis.

Ed is survived by his children Larry Dean Dillon, Gary Lee Dillon (LIbby), Randall Dillon, Regina Braden (Jody), Denise Kanige (Kevin), Sharon DeLong and Sue Dean (Scott);  Ed is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews

He enjoyed cooking for the men he worked with and anyone that came to visit. Along with working at the plant, he enjoyed farming, raising tobacco and sugarcane to make molasses.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Dave Long officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
