Edgar "Ed" Virgil Morris, 88, of Dunbar died February 11, 2015 at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston. Ed was born August 12, 1926, at Gay, West Virginia and was a 1943 graduate of Ripley High School. He saw service in World War II and the Korean War. Ed retired from LOF Glass after 36 years; Bowles, McDavid, Graff & Love after seven years and had been employed by McCormick Jewlers for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bails Morris; siblings, Glenva Randolph, Ruth Skinner, Dorothy Johns, Ruby Ferguson, Edsel Morris, Ayward Morris, Keith Morris and granddaughter Molly Gant. He is survived by siblings Eleanor Myers, Kenneth Morris, and Janet Lones. Ed is also survived by his daughters Pattty(Winston) Gregory of Scott Depot and Terrie(David) Hannah of Teays Valley; grandsons Mark Whittard of Charleston, SC, Justin(Megan) Hannah of Winfield; great-grandson Parker Hannah; step-granddaughter Whitney(Jamie) Carter and their children Marissa, Trip, and Cora of Teays Valley. He is also survived by long time companion Erline Davis of Charleston, WV and her children Teresa(Pete) Gant of Elkview, Jeff(Connie) Davis of Pinch; Erline's grandchildren, Lindsey, Phillip, and Grace Gant. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14 2015 at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley with Rev. Jim Walther officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the funeral. Burial will follow in the Parsons Cemetery at Gay, WV In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Molly Gant Blue Stone Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 866, Pinch, WV 25156.
