Edith Barnett

Edith Irean Barnett, 79 of Washington, WV passed away at home on October 15th, 2026.

Born to parents Frank Harmon and Marie Stuller, she attended Ripley High School graduating in 1966, and later married Carl Barnett. She spent 20 years as a custodian for the Wood County Board of Education before retiring and enjoying her rest.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Carl Junior Barnett, and brother Eugene Harmo; as well as her stepfather Leonard Stuller.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 60 years Carl Luther Barnett; daughter Dorthy Iren Barnett; granddaughter Emma Barnett Smith; sisters Betty V. and Joyce McClain; nephews Michael Harmon, Chad Harmon, and Brian Cole; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Services for Edith will be held at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV on Monday October 19th at 4 pm. Friends are encouraged to join the family at the funeral home in her memory for an hour prior to the services. After the services she will be cremated and laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery.
