Edith Mae Casto

On Sunday December 5, 2021 at 3:55pm Edith Mae (Wolfe) Casto 86 of Given WV earned her angel wings and entered the gates of Heaven with Jesus. She was born on May 30,1935. The daughter of the late Parker and Lula (Brotherton) Wolfe. She considered her self very blessed to have had 9 siblings, 6 brothers and 3 sisters who grew up in the Given community and they all graduated from High School. That was quite an accomplishment back in those days. She actually spoke about this the night before she passed away. She was a member of the Ripley High Class of 1953. On September 19, 1953 she married her sweetheart Everett (Buss) Casto. Together they had 3 children. Edith was also a lifelong member of the Given Church. She and Buss made their home in the Given Community until their deaths. Their home was always open to family and friends at any time day or night. She worked at the H&P Department Store, Jackson County Health Department and JCDC. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible. Her faith was strong and helped her get through some very hard times in life such as losing a child. She always said God was with her through it all. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and in her younger days you could always find her on a ballfield cheering on her children. In 2005 she was preceded in death by her husband of 52yrs. Everett (Buss) Casto, her only daughter Barbara Jean (Casto) French, brothers Hoyt Dwight Wolfe, James (Buggy) Wolfe, Robert (Bob)Wolfe, Cloyd Franklin Wolfe, Leonard (John L) Wolfe and sister Helen (Wolfe) Davis. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Bobby (Millie) Casto, Jonathon (Amy) Casto all of Given. Grandchildren, James (Fuzz) Jessica French of Given WV, Lauren (Sarah) Snodgrass, of Charlotte NC, Andrea (Nick) Gordon of Weston WV. Tyler (Jessica Perez) Casto of Virginia Beach VA, Lane Casto & Ella Casto both of Given. 9 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, and would have welcomed her 10th great grandchild in June of 2022. Sisters, Annabelle Jones and Margaret Randolph of Ripley and brother Ray Wolfe of Charleston WV. Sister in laws Ruth Ann Casto of Given, Mary Wolfe and Lucy Wolfe both of California and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7pm on Thursday December 9th at the Given Church 4656 Shamblin Run Road. Given Wv 25245 with Tim Birthisal, John Gunther and Paula Casto officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Edith’s memory to your local Hospice organization. The family would also like to thank Waybright Funeral Home and the staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital for the care Edith received while she was there.
