Edward Lee Counts

October 1, 1951 — February 13, 2026

Ripley

Edward Counts, 74, of Ripley, WV passed away after spending his later years in Sissonville.

He was a strong, independent man who lived life his way. He didn’t complain, didn’t ask for much and believed problems were meant to be solved- not talked about.

He was preceded in death by his mother Macil Counts; brother Roger Counts and his daughter, Tracy Hall.

He is survived by his brother, Toby Counts; his sister Louise Casto; his daughters, Beverly Estep (John Estep) and Mistie Jackson (Michael Jackson); five grandchildren, Cody Hall, Patrick Counts, Sarah Estep, Logan Jackson and Matthew Jackson and three great-grandchildren: Colt, Elisa and Braylee, who brought him pride and joy.

Edward retired from the WV Department of Transportation and will not miss the snow days. He loved hunting, fishing at Woodrum’s Lake and spending time shooting pool at Linda’s Place, where he was a damn good pool shot. He was repsected for his strength, his honesty and for always being exactly who he was. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated with a gathering to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston. Online memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
