Edward Charles Kipp, 89, of Ripley, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born September 9, 1924 at Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Edward W. and Emily Lawrence Vance. He was an army veteran of WW-II and retired from Greyhound Bus Lines with 35 years of service as a driver. He was a member of VFW Post 3488 and American Legion Post 107, Ripley and was an avid dog lover serving as a foster keeper for Cascade Beagle Rescue of Portland, Oregon. He was Catholic by faith. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Kipp and one son, Dean Kipp. Surviving: Sons, Richard Kipp and wife Janice and Randall Kipp; Daughter, Patricia Lynch and husband Robert; Step-son, Michael Lee Moore (Beverly) of Mineral Wells, WV; Step-daughters, Michelle Lynn Bailey (Alton) of Scottsboro, AL and Melissa June Ramsey of Morrisville, PA; Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward is also survived by his long time companion and caregiver, Hazel Vance of Ripley. A service celebrating the life of Edward Kipp will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Private interment will take place at the Grafton National Cemetery. Local military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 107, Ripley, at the conclusion of Saturday's service. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, March 28, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Edwards memory should be made to Cascade Beagle Rescue, Box 68630, Portland, Oregon, 97268.
