Edward Eugene Martin Jr.

Edward Eugene Martin Jr., 57, of Ripley passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Camden Clark Medical Center following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Eugene was born August 18, 1965 in Ripley, WV a son of Edward Eugene Sr. and Mary Frances Southall Martin. He was a graduate of Ripley High School, Class of 1984. Eugene will be remembered as a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, kayak and go camping in the mountains. He also enjoyed cruising many backroads and trails in his yellow Jeep. Eugene was a retiree of Constellium in Ravenswood

In addition to his parents, Eugene is survived by sisters Deborah Burge (Joseph) of Millwood and Kathy Jo Harris (David) of Ripley; a son, Dustin Eugene Martin (Alison Anderson) of Milton; grandchildren Payton and Bradleigh Martin; favorite niece Karisa Harris Danks (Dylan) of Charlotte, NC; nephews Zachary Casto of Okinawa, Japan, Nicholas Casto of Ripley, Matthew Harris of Ripley, Jonathan Harris of Ripley and Michael Durst of Cottageville. He is also survived by significant other, Jerra Casto.

Eugene was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Grovie Martin and Floyd and Anna Southall and a nephew, Travis Durst.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, May 25th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Dee Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
