On June 5, 2024, Edwin P. Fisher of Boynton Beach, Florida by way of Ripley, West Virginia, went to be with his Lord, his beloved wife of 72 years, Mary Lou, and daughter, Jennifer.
Born on April 1, 1923, he was in remarkably good health until six months before his passing never missing his every other day workout at the gym. He was a pilot with the Army Air Corp in World War II reaching the rank of First Lieutenant. He attended West Virginia University on the GI Bill and graduated in 1947. In 1948 he to work for Arthur Andersen in their Manhattan office. He spent his entire 33 year career with them rising to become director of audit in the New York office. He raised his family in New Jersey and moved back to West Virginia after his retirement before he and Mary Lou made Florida their full-time home.
He is survived by his son Jon and his wife Patty, and grandchildren Stephanie and her husband Cort, Nicole and Steven. Happily, he was able to celebrate his 100th birthday with all of them in 2023.
His heart always remained in West Virginia where he will be interred. A celebration of Ed’s Life will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with John Gunther officiating and Jon Fisher giving the eulogy for his father. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley.
