Emma Eileen Kerwood, 96 of Ripley, passed away May 31, 2022 a her home following a short illness. Eileen was born January 7, 1926 in Ripley, daughter of the late Alva and Ona Waybright Whiting. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. Eileen was an artist and loved painting, quilting and sewing. She was an avid golfer and was a mother advisor to the Rainbow girl, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a former Girl Scout Leader. She is survived by her twin daughters, Joyce (Gene) Groves and Janice Stump; grandchildren Jason Groves, Jamie (Dustin) Pardini, Tim (Kelly) Groves, Shon (Jackie) Stump and Jimmy (Hilary)Groves; great grandchildren, Morgan Groves, Adelyn Groves, Brooklyn Groves, Jameson Groves, Fallon Groves and Rome Stump and a cousin, Mae Whiting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James “Ob” Kerwood, sisters, Sybil Stephens, Macil LeMunyan and brother Kenneth Whiting. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Re. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the funeral home.
