Elsie June White Patterson, 93 of Ripley a loving wife and mother went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born November 26, 1921 on Middle Fork of Reedy, Roane County, daughter of the late Jess McDonald and Esta Wright White. On March 29, 1941 she married Otho "Bump" Patterson of Ripley whom preceded her in death in 1974. They resided their entire life on Ravenswood Pike where they raised their family. She was a homemaker, attended the Senior Center in Ripley and was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple. She enjoyed Bowling and won many trophies and was a Champion Bowler in 1967 and 1969. She enjoyed Quilting and was famous for her quality and patience while quilting. Her Red, White and Blue Lone Star Quilt won Best of Show at the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair at Cedar Lakes in Ripley and was presented to President George Bush in July of 2002. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death brothers George and James White and sisters Cora Miller, Margie Milhoan, Lucy Milhoan, Goldie Bennett and Mary Bell. She is survived by a son, Carroll Patterson and his wife Janet of Cottageville; daughter Dottie Adams and her husband Carl of Ripley; brothers Russell White of Suthington, Ohio, Roy White, Charles White both of Ripley, Carl White of Ravenswood; sister Helen Balser of Ravenswood; Grandchildren Kenneth Patterson, Annette Fulk, Carla Staats and Shannon Adams; great grandchildren Emily Crum, Bethany Fulk, Keven Lockhart, Ryan Lockhart, Austin Adams and Ashley Adams and great-great grandchildren Logan Lockhart, Benjamin Lockhart and Aubrey Crum. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be I the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the funeral home.
