Elsie Marie Withrow

Elsie Marie Jones Withrow, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away at age 80 on November 10, 2013 at 11:04 a.m. Elsie was born in Clendenin, WV on November 26, 1932. Elsie spent her whole life making sure her children and grandchildren were loved and cared for through her endless acts of kindness and insurmountable strength. Elsie always knew what to say to make you feel better and was always ready to fight for her children if she thought they had been wronged. She taught her children how to be strong, how to laugh, and most importantly she taught them how to love. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Grace Jones, sisters, Lucille Sloan, Iona Strickland, Dorothy Davis, Irene Stanley, and Annabelle Sloan. Elsie leaves behind her four daughters and one son;Vickie Halstead, Barbara Cavender, Mark Miller, Pamela West, and Polly Sigman, eight grandchildren; Kathy Snizaski, Jesse Halstead, Paul Cavender, Megan Cavender, Matt Cavender, Brian Sigman, Adam Sigman and Shelbe West, three great-greandchildren; Nikolai Snizaski, Bronek Snizaski, and HaylynnCavender, and one brother, John Jones. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and funeral services will be at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV.
