Emma Knopp Mathney

Emma Louisia Knopp Matheny went home to be with her Lord Monday, May 9, 2016. She was born on September 6, 1927 at Frozencamp, West Virginia to Clyde Otho and Renna Grace (Board) Knopp. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Wayne (married June 30, 1945), son Michael Grant and foster son Garrett Jarvis, Great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Fitzgerald. Sisters, Corrine Matheny and Geraldine Lupardus. Brothers Durward, Otho, Bill, Jim and Frank Knopp. She is survived by a sister Mabel Whited of Wadsworth, OH. Sons Richard (Anita) Matheny of Bluffton, SC and Rod (Shireene) Matheny of Ripley, WV. Grandchildren are Lisa (Danney) Snyder of Ripley, Shonnette (Larry) Johnson of McClean, VA, Jenni (Lance) Ankrum of Roswell, GA. and Cam Matheny of Ravenswood. 9 great grandchildren. 2 great-great grandchildren Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Waybright's Funeral Home in Ripley, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Mt Zion Cemetery, Roane County following services Family and friends are invited to gather back at the funeral home in the Family Center for refreshments after the burial.
