Ernest Otis Raines

Ernest Otis Raines 70 of Ripley passed away suddenly at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley. He was born February 6, 1943 at Ripley, son of the late Otis and Ruby Comer Raines. He worked in construction for many years being employed by Lee- Mac, and Coal Companies. He worked at the ABC Store in Ripley but recently was self-employed along with his wife Diane with Raines Upholstery. Ernest was a veteran of the US Army. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane Spaulding Raines; son Ernie Raines and his wife Carey of Lake Monticello, VA; daughter-in-law Sonia Raines of Gay; grandchildren Kayla Poling and her husband Adam, Carson and Dawson Raines. Uncles Everett Raines (Sharlyn) and Cleo (Freda) Raines and aunt Dorothy "Dot" (Jack) Atkinson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Chuck Raines. Funeral Service will be 7:30 pm Friday March 29, 2013 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Arnold Conant officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Those who wish to bring food to the family may bring it to the funeral home on Friday for a time of food and fellowship in honor of Ernest which will be held in the Parsons-Vail Family Center located inside the funeral home following the service.
