Marie Garrett

Ethel Marie Garrett, 93, of Ripley passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at Mountain View Care Cetner in Ripley.

Marie was born June 29,1932 at Belgrove a daughter of the late Isaac Curtis and Elizabeth “Esta” (Casto) Skeen.

Marie enjoyed listening to music, reading and sewing. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her cooking and if you left her house hungry, it was your own fault.

She is survived by her children Renaee Jordan (Brad), Deloris Chacon, Dean Garrett (Sharon) and Rejina Thomas (Buddy) and brother Talmadge Skeen. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeremy, Anthony, Christina, Jonathan, Tyler and Ty and 6 great-grandchildren Easton, Cash Haddie, Lauren, Anthony, Emily and Bradly

In addition to her parents Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Clinton Garrett and siblings Gay Melhorn, Freda Westfall, Opal Anderson and Doyle Parsons.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 30th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Aaron Melhorn officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
