Eva Jane Tackett

Eva Jane (Shaffer) Tackett, 79, of Leroy passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospice.

She was born August 8, 1944 in Kanawha County a daughter of the late Sherman and Alta Opal (Furbee) Shaffer.

Jane loved serving her Lord and was a dedicated minister’s wife and enjoyed witnessing to people with her late husband, Darrell. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her children Susan Southall, Rhonda Syner (Jerry), Melissa Ferrell (Jammie), Tanya Powers (Timothy); brothers Darrell “Dick” Shaffer and Ronald Shaffer (Ruth); sisters Emma Alexander and Audry Landfried (Red). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Darrell Tackett; a brother Paul Shaffer; sisters Eula Thacker and Betty Johnston and a great-grandson, Grayson Levi Price.
