Evalina June Young

Evalina June (Casto) Young, 91, of Sandyville passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born June 27, 1933 at Belgrove, WV a daughter of the late Artist Lee and Martha Matilda (Fields) Casto. Evalina was women of many talents and enjoyed sewing, upholstery work, playing the piano and singing. She would retire from Jackson General Hospital after many years of service.

Evalina is survived by a son Steve Young; daughter Sharon Watson (Ricky); grandchildren Danny Sharp (Mary), Kristy Hatcher (Mike), Jason Young, Laurie Casto (Jeff), Lakrissa Rhodes, Jeremy Young and Joey Young; daughter-in-law Sandy Sheperd. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evalina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Denver A. Young; son, Joseph L. Young; son-in-law Paul “Buck” Sharp; daughters-in-law Debbie Young and Kathy Young; brothers Clida Casto, Delbert Casto, Dexter Casto, Odie Casto and sisters, Orly Donohew, Lilly Smith and Mae Casto.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. May 3rd at Waybright Funeral Home with Ed Austin,Mike Hatcher and Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Young Family Cemetery, Ripley.
