Evelyn Kerns

Evelyn Kerns, 79 of Kentuck, Jackson County, passed away December 22, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston following a long illness. She was born July 6, 1939 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Nellie Campbell. She was a Homemaker and attended the Goshen Baptist Church. Evelyn loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clyde Kerns; a grandson, Nathan Kelly and four siblings, John Campbell, Margaret Vance, Laura Tate and Sue Campbell. She is survived by her children, Karen Kelly and husband Daniel of Charleston and Keith Kerns and wife Amy of Cottageville; brothers Herbert Campbell of Sissonville and Hubert Campbell of Louisville, KY; sisters Catherine Smith and Barbara Steele both of Charleston and Virginia Reed of Sissonville; grandchildren, Stacy (Eric) Miller, Rachel Kerns and Rebecca Kerns and great grandchildren, Peyton and Maci Miller. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Carl Casto officiating. Burial will be in the Kerns Cemetery, Kentuck.
