Frances G. "Frannie" Knight, 81, of Ripley, passed away Wednesday evening, June 9, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 26, 1932 at Charleston, daughter of the late Marco and Hazel Hatcher Garnes. Frannie was a Christian and attended Fairplain Union Church. Frannie's career was in the hospitality industry as a hotel/motel manager. She was part of the original team that opened the Elk River Holiday Inn in Charleston in the 1960's and was featured in media coverage of the construction and opening of that property. She retired from the Days Inn Corporation. Surviving: Sons, Rick Sisson of Ripley and Jeff Sisson of Ripley; Daughter, Jerri Jackson of Ripley; Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. A celebration of the life of Frances "Frannie" Knight will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor Todd King officiating. Private entombment will be at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Sissonville.
