Fred Nutter of Evans, WV went to be with with Lord on April 12, 2025.
2 Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Fred was born May 1, 1933 in Charleston to the late Lonnie and Mamie (Johnson) Nutter.
He was raised on George’s Creek, the family moved to Rand in 1950. He graduated from Dupont High School and then enlisted in the US Navy. After his service he went to work at Kaiser Aluminum where he would later retire from after many years of service.
Fred loved study and the Bible as well as woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his parents Fred is preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary (Coon) Nutter; daughter Rosemary (Rob Smith); Mark Nutter (Lenora), David Nutter (Katherine) and Kenny Nutter; grandchildren Chloe and Colby. He is also survived by a sister, Inez.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Marilyn Ingram, Dr. Donald Sweitzer, Dr. Clinton Mills and the staff at WVU Medicine Jackson General Hospital. Matt VanMeter, Sarah Pauley and Lori Casto, we would have been lost without your support during this difficult time.
