Gary Lee Carney

Gary Lee Carney, 64, of Rock Castle passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 18, 1952 at Given, WV a son of the late Arlie Roy and Margaret Elizabeth Hunter Carney. Gary was a retired boilermaker of Union Local 667, Winfield. He also loved to farm, go trail riding, hunting, and working with the boys. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jackie Barnette Carney; Son Joey Carney and his wife Amber; Sisters Charlotte Rausch of Lancaster, OH and Wilma Barnett (Bill) of Rock Castle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with John Gunther officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Moss Chapel Cemetery, Given.
