Gary A. Pursley

Gary Pursley, 69 of Sandyille passed away December 8, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg following a short illness. He was born March 5, 1952 In Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Ray and Ruth Mason Pursley. His work in the Oil Fields took him to multiple countries of the World where he touched many lives. Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles and four wheelers, making maple syrup, fishing and spending time with his son working on his truck. Most of all he enjoyed being a good husband, father and brother. He was a member of the Ripley Church of the Nazarene where he served as the church Treasurer and on the board. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sheri Weekley Pursley; son, Zachariah Pursley; brothers Arthur (Linda) Pursley, David Pursley and Randy (Janet) Pursley; sisters Patricia Richmond and Debra Williams and brother-in-law Gary (Lauri) Weekley along with many nieces and nephews as well as those he inspired and brought joy to by putting a smile on faces wherever he went. Gary’s selfless, loving and giving heart will never be forgotten. Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Ripley Church of the Nazarene, 209 Cedar Lakes Dr, Ripley, WV, Ripley, with Kristopher Powell officiating. The service will be live-streamed at 3;00 pm by visiting http://Ripleynaz.online.church A time of visitation with the family will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the church on Sunday.
