Gene Franklin Shamblin

Gene Franklin Shamblin, 76, of Ripley passed away October 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. He was born May 3, 1938 at Romance, WV a son of the late Johnny and Daisy Parsons Shamblin. He worked in the Paving Industry and retired from Pavex Corporation in Florida with 43 years of service. During that time he worked in West Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Mike Shamblin, a daughter Kim Wright and a sister Carolyn Tribble. He is survived by his wife Frankie Johnson Shamblin; daughter in law Vicki Shamblin of Parkersburg; son in law Burl Wright of Parkersburg; brothers Billie (Myrtle) Shamblin ad Ronald (Deloris) Shamblin; grandchildren Mike (Lisa), Josh (Anna), Matt (Cassandra), Courtney(Shawn), Andy (Tracy) and Veronic . Also survived by 13 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Shamblin Cemetery, Romance. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
