Geneva N. Snyder

July 4, 1935 — February 26, 2022

Geneva Norldean Snyder, 86, of Ripley, passed away on February, 26, 2022 at CAMC due to a short illness. She left this world in peace. She was born July 4th, 1935 in Staats Mill, WV the daughter of William Benton Fields and Corda Belle Rhodes Fields. She began her career at the young age of 17 years old, working at the Village Cafeteria in Ripley. She soon become a mother to 4 children and raised them as she was the best Mother. Once the children were in school, she continued her culinary career at the Jackson County schools for 27 years and retired in 1997 to spend time with her loving husband and family. She enjoyed cooking, watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and activities. She loved “tinkering” in her yard as she was blessed with being able to grow beautiful flowers and plants. She was a Christian and member of Ripley Tabernacle Church. Left to cherish her memory are her children Debra (Gary) Click of Ripley, Patricia Morris of Ripley, Danney (Lisa) Snyder of Ripley, and Terry (Tammie) Snyder of Charleston. Geneva was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Joshua Click, Britney (Justin) Archer, Erica (Matt) McVay, Derek (Kasey) Snyder, Olivia (Joshua) Sharp, Kyle (Jenna) Snyder and Kaitlin Snyder, and 3 step grandchildren: Joseph Shaver, Samuel Shaver and Beau (Megan) Shaver, 4 great grandchildren: Brynn Archer, Brady McVay, Mia and Emma Snyder, and 2 step great grandchildren: Adrian and Avery Shaver. She is survived by her brother Delmas Fields. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Cread James Snyder, sisters Dorean Anderson, Dorthlean Raines and Maudolean Meadows. Due to COVID restrictions, the family has requested a private funeral service at Waybright Funeral Home on March 2nd, 2022 at 1:00pm.
