Gordon Ray Keyser

January 5, 1955 — October 15, 2017

Gordon Ray Keyser, 62, of Ripley was taken from us suddenly Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2017. Gordon was born January , 1955 in Cameron, WV. He spent his life doing what he loved wherever he was. The last 20 years were spent in Jackson County. He was a block/brick mason by trade since a very young age. Gordon worked hard his whole life and played even harder. He is survived by a small circle of family and friends from "up the holler" on Clay Lick Road in Ripley. His son, Gordon R. Keyser II and three beautiful granddaughters; Dakota Shae, Aubrey Nicole and Addison Marie. They were his world. Gordon loved being outside doing anything and everything he could find. He loved being in his garden as much as the weather would allow. He was an amazing teacher to the grandkids of how to do puzzles, can veggies, stack/split firewood, catch bait to go catfishing, or laying block and mixing mud by age 3. That was what he loved! Two of his favorite things to do was spend time with Joe Taylor at Cops Hunting Club in Richie County any chance he could. He loved to hunt anything he could kill and eat.. or just show off. Or fishing wih his son and Whitey Kay at Catfisherman's Paradis sleeping outside all night. Gordon will be sadly missed by tons of family and friends all over the state. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday October 22 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Online memories and condolences can be sent to the family by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com
