Gregory G. Stanley, 48, of Sandyville passed away March 6, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital following a short illness. Greg was born January 22, 1968 at Ripley, a son of Donald Glenn and Mary Lou Smith Stanley of Sandyville. He was a member of the Class of 1986 with Ripley High School. Greg was a veteran of the Gulf War while serving as a United States Marine from 1986 until 1992. He was employed with Frontier Communications working out of the Parkersburg office for the last 15 years. In addition to his parents, Glen and Mary Stanley, he is survived by a brothers Ronald Stanley and his children Andrew and Rachel, Michael and Kelly and their children Joey and Celena; his grandmother Eileen Stanley; Greg had an extended family that will miss him very much. He was a friends with everyone he met and leaves buddies from Texas to West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Estel and Norma Smith. In death Greg continues to help others by being an organ donor. A Celebration of Greg's life will be 8:00 pm Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Joey Cunningham presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for "Greg's Orchard" which will be built in memory of him.
