Harry W. Harris

Harry Whitten Harris Jr., 79 of Cottageville, passed away February 2, 2023 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following a long illness.

He was born March 25, 1943 in Ravenswood, son of the late Harry W. Sr. and Ruby Wyant Harris. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and retired from A.B. Chance in Parkersburg.

He is survived by a daughter Cynthia Harris of Cottageville; sons Dion (Charlene) Harris of Sumter, SC and Jeff (Susie) Harris of Ohio; grandchildren Rebecca Harris, Will Harris, Megean Hanshaw and Fletcher Harris; great grandchildren Bently Harris, Brandon Harris and Connor Harris. Brother Jim (Sharon) Harris of Ravenswood; sister-in-law Darlene Harris of North Ft. Myers, FL and nephew Kevin (Andera) Harris of Ravenswood.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma King Harris; grandson Zachary Harris and brother John Harris.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A time of visitation with the family will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
