Hazel Marie Offutt

Hazel Marie Offutt, 85 of Sandyville went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2017 She was born March 11, 1931 at Sandy Hook, KY, a daughter of the late Walter and Belle Winkleman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bernard H. Offutt, five brothers, Fred, Ray, Paul, Roger and Carl Winkleman, two sisters, Thelma Winkleman and Dorothy Slusher and one grandson, Jeremy Lipscomb. Hazel was a loving and caring devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Sandyville United Methodist Church and Lifetime member of the Sandyville United Methodist Women’s Society. She had a deep passion for her Lord and Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to Gospel Music. She is survived by her son Gregory (Kathy) Offutt of Sandyville and daughter Deborah (Jennings) Lipscomb of Sandyville; grandchildren Heather (Stephen) Shedd of Parkersbug, Stephen Offutt (Charlene McClintic) of Sandyville, Justin (Whitney) Offutt of Spartensburg, SC, and Jennifer Lipscomb of Ravenswood: great-grandchildren Stephanie Shedd, Olivia Shedd, Lucas Lipscomb, Jessica Lipscomb, Tyler Shedd, Parker Offutt, Riley Vance, Ryan Vance, Bailey McClintic, Caden Lipscomb, and Kamryn and Nicholas Offutt; one brother Clayton Winkleman of Morehead, KY; four sisters, Yvonne (Bill) Shults of Graceville, FL, Darlene Brown of Morehead, KY, Diane (Tony) Hitch of Morehead, KY and Ava Sue (Junior) Hitch of West Liberty, KY. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 24, 2017at the Sandyville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jarrod Caltrider officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley and two hours (11 am to 1 pm) prior to the service at the church.
