Hazel Westfall, 84 of Ripley passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born August 25, 1927 at Belgrove a daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie Good Critchfield. She was a homemaker and loved to sing. She helped in teaching music and singing harmony at Davis and Elkins College for 20 years and attended the Ripley Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Basil Casto, sons William and Eric Casto and Brothers Herman, Tea and Homer Critchfield. She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Westfall, daughters Avis Turner of Ravenswood and Sharon Weaver of Millwood; sons Gary Casto of Statts Mill and Terry Casto of Fairplain; brothers John Critchfield of Belgrove, Arnold Critchfield of Michigan, Ron Critchfield of Kenna, Earl Critchfield of Kenna and Darrell Critchfield of Aplin Ridge; sisters Della May Harris of Hartsville, Ohio and Reva Comer of Fisher Ridge. Also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 11 am Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
