Helen Balser Helen Louise Gale Balser, 81, of Sandyville, passed away Friday evening, June 31, 2013 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston following an extended illness. She was born May 19, 1932 in Parkersburg, daughter of the late Richard P. and Edna Gale. She was a lifelong homemaker and full time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen's husband of 54 years, Walter Creed Balser, preceded her in death as did a son, Richard Creed Balser and a sister, Janiece Butler Little of Kansas, formerly of Parkersburg. Surviving: Son, Scott Balser (Donna) of Ravenswood; Daughters, Terry Wolford (Bobby) of Sandyville and Chris Balser of Ravenswood; Grandchildren, Tracy Wolford Kelley, J.R. Wolford, Nikki Balser, Cassie Balser, Jeremy Balser, Justin Creed Balser, Cody Balser, Tashina Castle Stewart, Bobbi Jo Hoschar and Ricky Hoschar; Great-grandchildren, Nathan Stalnaker, Lucas Stalnaker, Emma Romeo and Lydia Stewart. A celebration of Helen's life will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 8 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. with a graveside committal service Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
