Helen J. Casto

Helen J. Casto, 88 of Given, passed away September 23, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Hospice Care, following a long illness.

She was born January 30, 1935 in Given, daughter of the late Boyd and Plina Shamblen. She grew up in Given and returned there after living in Dunbar for several years. She attended the Walker Chapel Church.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald Ray Casto; her children, Brenda (Glenn) Robinson of Kenna, Steve Casto of Given and Connie (Gary) Tolley of Given; grandchildren Lori (Austin) Fisher of Given, Travis (Michele) Brotherton of Given, Stephen Casto of St. Albans, Matthew Casto of Los Angeles, CA, Brandon Tolley of Charleston and Cody (Masonne) Tolley of Given; great grandchildren Tatum and Maverick Brotherton of Given, and Brady, Carson and Connor Fisher of Given.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Starcher and Anna Mae Shamblen; brothers Robert Shamblen and Rhondus Shamblen; nephew Leonard Hunter and niece, Debbie Shamblen.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Larry Woody officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rockcastle. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
