Helen "Cookie" Hall

Helen Joyce “Cookie” (Anderson) Hall, 83, of Ripley passed away January 27, 2025.

She was born November 12, 1941 in Fairplain, WV a daughter of the late Omer Ruda and Faith Pauline (Staats) Anderson.

Cookie was a member of the Grass Lick Baptist Church where she was in the Women’s Missions, AWANA’s and various other ministries throughout her life. She retired from the American Baptist Convention where she served at Parchment Valley Conference Center for over 20 years. She was homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, serving the Lord and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Cookie is survived by a son Frederick H. and Barbara Hall of Fairplain and daughter Lucinda and James Oiler of Ripley; sister Janice Petersen; sisters-in-law Patsy Anderson and Marcia Anderson; brothers and sisters-law Bernard and Karen Parsons, Kenneth and Aletha Hall and Jeff Hall; grandchildren Molli and Tyler Markham , Morgan and Gus Carodine, Maci and Caleb Villers; step-grandchildren Jamie and Christina Bostic and Eli and Alicia Anderson; great-grandchildren Milaney Lucille Markham, Mitilda Leyton Markham, Oiler Jaxston Carodine, Ada James Villers, Ohana Josephine Carodine, Audie Caleb Villers, Minroe Lexington Markham, Matthew Bostic and Luke Bostic. She is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael F. Hall; brothers Bob and Rudy Anderson and brother and sister-in-law Don and Barbara Anderson; sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Lee Reed; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bob Hutton brother-in-law Pete Petersen and sister-in-law Robin Hall.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 31st at Waybright Funeral Home with Rev. Caleb Villers officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
