Helen Marie Hinzman, 67 of Ripley passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg following a long illness. She was born January 30, 1948 at Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Routh Linger. She was a Christian and attended the Mt. Hope Church of God. She was employed by the Jackson County Board of Education as a Teacher's Aide and worked at Fairplain Elementary and Ripley Middle School. She specialized in helping handicapped children and loved being there for them. She enjoyed writing poetry and won several awards for her writings. She was a member of the American Poetry Society. She is survived by her husband William "Bud" Hinzman; daughters Tammy (Mike) Southall of Sandyville and Sherry (Don) Coon of Parkersburg; grandchildren Kim (Ryan) Hill of Ripley, Michael Holmes of Sandyville, William Southall of Sandyville, Ross Coon of Parkersburg and Katie Coon of Parkersburg; brothers Howard and Glenn Linger both of Springfield, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Louise Hinzman and her best friend Edna Roush. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Enoch Pursley and David Hinzman officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery near Sandyville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday, January 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
